Zara bounced with excitement as Daddy parked the car at the zoo. Her two puffy hair buns bobbed while she skipped in her pink and purple dress. "It's so hot today!" giggled Zara, holding Daddy's hand tightly. Daddy smiled down at his five-year-old daughter, wiping his forehead in the August heat.

The Big Zoo Day

Zara and Daddy saw tall giraffes stretching their necks to munch leaves. They watched playful monkeys swinging from branch to branch. "Look at the elephants spraying water!" Zara pointed, her eyes wide with wonder. Daddy lifted Zara onto his shoulders for a better view of the sleepy lions.

Meeting the Animals

At the aquarium section, Zara pressed her hands against the glass of a special tank. A bright red octopus swam gracefully, then suddenly turned to look right at her. "Daddy, the octopus is watching me!" Zara whispered in amazement. Each time Zara moved, the octopus followed, its eight arms dancing in the water.

The Curious Octopus
