Winnie wants to be a cheerleader

Winnie had a dream so bright, to cheer with all her might. She watched the big girls leap and cheer, and wished she could be near. Her brothers Wylie and Warner would smile, and say, 'You’ll be there in a while.' But Winnie wanted to start today, to jump and cheer and play.

Winnie's Big Dream

Wylie said, 'Let's start to train, practice will ease your pain.' Warner joined in with a cheer, 'Go Winnie! You have no fear!' They practiced every single day, to help Winnie find her way. She learned to jump and clap her hands, and soon she could make her own stands.

Practice Makes Perfect

One day, Winnie got a surprise that made her heart rise. The school was having a cheer tryout, and Winnie wanted to shout. 'I’ll try my best, I won’t give in, I know this is a win!' With her brothers by her side, Winnie felt a burst of pride.

A Cheerful Surprise

The day of tryouts came so fast, Winnie hoped her skills would last. She watched the older girls in awe, and felt her heart begin to thaw. 'I can do this,' she said with glee, 'I’ll show them what’s inside of me.' With a cheer and a leap so high, Winnie felt like she could fly.

Tryout Day

Winnie’s turn came and she felt small, but she stood up straight and tall. She took a deep breath and began to cheer, 'I can do this, I have no fear!' Her brothers cheered from the side, and Winnie felt a surge of pride. She finished with a smile so bright, knowing she had done it right.

Nervous but Brave

The judges took some time to think, and Winnie felt her heart sink. But then they called her name out loud, and Winnie felt so very proud. 'You did it!' Wylie and Warner said, and Winnie felt her cheeks turn red. She had made the team, her dream came true, and her heart was filled with joy anew.

The Results

Winnie went to her first cheer practice, feeling like she was on a mattress. The older girls welcomed her with cheer, and Winnie felt she had nothing to fear. She learned new moves and made new friends, and hoped the fun would never end. With each practice, she got better and better, and felt as light as a feather.

The big game day arrived at last, and Winnie felt her heart beat fast. She cheered with her team by her side, feeling a sense of pride. The crowd cheered back with joy and glee, and Winnie felt as happy as can be. Her dream had come true, she was a cheerleader, and she knew she could do anything, forever.
