Hi! I’m Willow the Water Droplet! People sometimes call me the ‘forgotten nutrient,’ but guess what? I do so many important jobs! Want to come on a journey through your body and see how I help out? Let’s go!

Meet Willow!

First stop: the mouth! Here, I help moisten your food to make it easy to chew and swallow. Without me, eating would be tough, and your food would be too dry to go down! You wouldn’t be able to swallow that yummy food so easily! I coat each bite and get it ready to go down the way it should. Yum!

The Big Gulp

Next, I’m off to the stomach! This is where the magic happens – I help break down your food and turn it into the energy you need to stay strong and healthy. I work alongside the stomach juices to make sure carbohydrates, fats, and proteins get digested properly. All of them get transformed into the building blocks your body needs for energy!

Making Food Mushy

Wheee! Here I am in the bloodstream, flying past red blood cells like they’re my friends! My job now is to deliver important nutrients to every part of your body, from your head to your toes. I carry oxygen to your lungs and muscles, and even vitamins and minerals to your bones. I’m like a speedy delivery service for everything your body needs to stay healthy and strong!

Digestion Station

Uh-oh, it’s a hot, sunny day! Don’t worry, I’m here to help! I turn into sweat to keep your body cool and balanced. As you run, I move through your skin and help keep your body temperature just right. I even help you cool down by evaporating, which makes you feel less hot. Think of me as your built-in air conditioner!

The Bloodstream Highway

Next stop: the kidneys! My job here is super important – I help flush out waste and keep your body clean. I help your kidneys filter out toxins, like the stuff your body doesn’t need anymore. Together, we make sure everything stays nice and clean, and we send the waste out of your body so you stay healthy. Bye-bye, bad stuff!

Brain Power

Every time you blink, I spread across your eyes like a tiny shield, washing away dust and keeping them healthy! Without me, your eyes could feel dry, itchy, or even blurry. So remember—drink water to keep those bright eyes sparkling!
