
 Mira loved the olive tree. It stood tall and strong in front of their home in the small village on the hill, in Palestine's West Bank. 

She and her brother Omar played under its branches every afternoon, challenging each other to races and playing Gulla or Ghummedah.

Mira and Omar lived in a cozy house on a hill in a small village. In front of their home stood a magnificent olive tree. Every afternoon, they would play beneath its wide branches. They loved playing Gulla and Ghummedah, laughing and chasing each other around the tree. The olive tree felt like a magical friend, always watching over them.

One day, Baba and Mama called Mira and Omar into the house. They had important news to share. 'We must take good care of the olive tree,' said Baba. 'It gives us olives and shade, and it has been here for generations.' Mira and Omar promised to protect the tree with all their hearts.

A Special Promise

One night, a big storm came to the village. The wind howled and the rain poured down. Mira and Omar watched from their window, worried about their beloved tree. In the morning, they ran outside to check. To their relief, the olive tree stood strong, its branches swaying gently in the breeze.

Mira and Omar decided to plant more olive trees with Baba and Mama. They wanted to make sure their village stayed beautiful and green. Together, they dug holes and planted tiny saplings. As they worked, they imagined the new trees growing tall and strong like their old friend. The olive tree in the yard smiled in the sunlight, proud of the children's kindness.
