Lucy Lavine, Slayer of Worries

Eleven years young and 4 foot short
was Lucy Lavine, the worry wart.


Chap 1

By day, her worries were hardly noticed,
but sometimes, in class, she couldn’t keep focused.

Her thoughts would diverge into some other realm like a ship without anyone manning the helm.

She stayed up late tossing and turning
with 100 worries in her mind, churning.

What if it rains when I’m walking to school? 
What if the kids say my clothes are not cool?

What if my teacher hates my assignment?
Are my teeth crooked? Do they need realignment?

Caught in the rain, in a peculiar town, the rain was her worries and they were pouring down!

She ran for safe cover but they splashed at her feet.
She had little choice but to fight and defeat!

She raised her fists and they turned into swords.
“I have the power; the power is yours!”

So what if it rains when I’m walking to school?
I will practice my freestroke like I’m in a pool

So what if the kids don’t think I look cool?
Forever and always, some kids are just cruel.

Shoes are for walking and clothes are to wear.
If they’re not fancy I don’t really care!

She knew more worries would come into her brain but she would be ready to slay when they came.
