Laura is a 7 year old girl. Her mom gave her a loonie to take to school because there are treats for sale at the office. She looses the loonie on the way as she has no pockets. Her and her friend Sarah have an adventure looking for the loonie. They find it just in time to get a popsicle to share at the office. 

Laura's Lost Loonie

Laura was excited. Her mom had given her a shiny loonie for treats at school. Laura had no pockets, so she held it tight in her hand. She promised to be careful.

The Special Loonie

On her way to school, Laura was skipping and humming. She didn't notice when the loonie slipped from her grasp. Suddenly, she felt her hand was empty.

Laura and Sarah looked under benches and around corners. They asked people if they had seen a shiny loonie. But so far, their search was fruitless but they were not going to give up.

The Search Begins

In the park, they spotted something shiny under a leaf. Rushing over, they found it was just a bottle cap. Disappointed, they kept searching.

A Clue in the Park

A squirrel chattered above them. It dropped an acorn that rolled towards a shiny object. It was the loonie! It was stuck in a crack. They needed a plan.

Sarah found a stick. Carefully, they used it to pry the loonie out of the crack. It took a few tries, but finally, the loonie popped out. They cheered!

Laura was so grateful. They had worked together and succeeded. Now, she could buy her treat!

At the office, realized that without Sarah she would not have found the loonie. She saw that there were popsicles that could be shared available so she chose a popsicle.
